My car is parked outside till I get it on the road, and today noticed the headlights were dimly glowing; the high beam indicator on the dash also glows slightly even with the ignition off (key removed) and headlamp switch turned off.
Autolamps is also turned off.

I tried toggling / wiggling the headlamp switch and engaging / disengaging the ebrake to get them to go out but they still stay on. even messed with the autolamps switch but it still stays on. I ended up pulling the 20 amp fuse on circuit #10 to get them to go out.

the fact they just came on all of a sudden leads me to believe its an intermittent electrical issue, probably moisture got in somewhere where it shouldn't be.

It's just the front headlamps.. the taillights do not light.

Anyone else have this problem?

More than likely has something to do with the daytime running light module. That is if the car was so equiped, I believe the canadian models were.

I would have to agree its the DRL's. The module is poor quality and usually burns out. It is located in the drivers side inner fender near the opening for the air box.

Actually blame england for this one or one of those countrys over there. IIRC they made the DRL module.

:thankyou:

will check it out today when I finish dealing with the oil pan gasket. Is there any known way to test the DRL module? or is replacing them the only way?

Aside from a dealership, anyone know where I can get one (possibly after market) ?

There was a problem with the bake o lite connecter that went on the headlight switch. the connecter would destort allowing the headlamp wires to short to each other..in early stages this would be a very small voltage draw or it would leave some circuits with power constanitly....
it is easy to check remove the head light switch and disconnect it from the connnector and look at the connector any discoloration or warpage and it needs to be replaced.

DRL module would cause the headlights to be on and not the tail lights.
