Got Cams?
As some of you may know i purchased Sho Amo's beautiful ported and painted heads. With mine on 160k+ on the originals and no love for them other than fresh plug well seals i figured it was a good buy.
But this being my first swap i have no idea what all i need to pick up before i start. I understand the Head bolts are re use able? What is the torque pattern i should follow and what ft-lb should i tighten too? and does it need to be done in two stages?
From my understanding the heads have fresh seals and such (Feel free to correct my Sho Amo if im wrong) is there any other gaskets/seals i need to pick up other than just Head gaskets? What brand head gaskets is everyone using? Anything wrong with Victor Reinz for 51$ on rock auto?
Should i replace the valve guides with the bronze ones if they havent done so and are worn out?
I will need new o-rings for injectors is there anything else that should be done in that area while im in there?
Exhaust gaskets or anything weird with the the manifolds i need to know about?
Anything else i should do while im in there?
Ive read a couple walk troughs on the forum of what other people have done and saved a bunch of them and will be using them a lot!
I plan on getting my LPM tunned after i get this swap finished because im already noticing the need for a tune with mods ive done already, and with these ported heads im guessing im really going to need it. Should i mention to SHOsource that these heads are ported or have anything special done for the tune?
My apologies for the million questions just dont wanna get done there and get stuck or put it all back together and have forgotten to do something and have to do it all over again!
