I just removed my heads, blown head gasket, and thought I'd ask what should be done while they are off? I am already planning to check the valve clearances. Can I clean the water and oil passages? Cylinder walls feel fine no scratches. I have a 1994 atx with 94,000 miles. Head gasket blew due to overheating cause by ate up spark plug wells. I think it was only running on five cylinders. Replaced plugs(Motorcraft) wires(Taylor) all other upper gaskets.
