my 1990 mtx suddenly lost power....so i checked the plugs and this is what i found... the front 3 were chalky and white looking.......the passenger rear one was identical to the front three... but the other two rear ones were black, covered in oil and dripping wet, and they smelled burnt...i figured i had a blown head gasket or a cracked head......any more suggestions...thanks for any help. john

warped/cracked heads or blown gasket is EXTREMELY rare on a SHO. But not impossible.

The white plugs surely points that way. It could mean your burning coolant or that your running lean.

Hows the level of your coolant in the rad? Any white smoke?

The oily ones only mean you need a valve cover gasket , they leak inside the plug wells.

All you need is a paperclip. No scan tool needed.

Check your oil and coolant levels. Also make sure that they aren't mixing together.
