my 91 sho is using coolant lately and I suspect head gasket, I bought this car with 65k from the original owner and he had let a coolant hose leak and leak and just put water for a couple years I guess, when I got the car I did a 5 day cooling system flush, cause so much rust was in there.
now the car has 130k and had 3 radiators in it, the current one leaks sometimes too, all the radiators leak on the drivers side tank, I have been watching to see if it leaks now and havent caught anything.
I know from fooloing with 5.0 engines that the gaskets gave up the ghost when the owners didnt care for the cooling systems, thats why I think the same has happened to my sho. are head gaskets hard to find for these engines? do the head bolts need to be changed too? do the come factory with torque to yeild bolts?
plus I cant seem to get better than 20 mpg when I used to get 30mpg, any info is much appreciated thanks.
