From research I get KM M6479A Royal Blue Metallic, but then another site says 95, which the car is...is Med Blue Metallic The door says FC4...Can anyone tell me what the heck color I need to buy..duplicolor?? To get started on a couple of the spots on Bob.. tks,
Terry
I don't think FC4 has anything to do with the color. I have an old 95 Ford paint color brochure and KM for a Taurus is called Moonlight Blue Clearcoat Metallic (my favorite color)
The FC4 you're referring to is simply a Ford production code for Front-wheel Car 4door! The KM, listed above "exterior paint colors", is the designated paint production code.
You would think that a company like Ford, with all its organizational resource, could put together a simpler and more informative data card.
I don't know of anyone who gets the paint code correct the first time around.
and that particular color was called a different name by the marketing department (moonlight blue) than by the production and parts departments (royal blue clearcoat). if you look for replacement paint, you need to look for royal blue clearcoat, because the paint suppliers used the production names, not the marketing names for the colors.
