ok.. welding on the subframe connectors isn't going to be easy thanks to what looks like a previous owner running over one of those parking deviders.

use 1/8" bar stock, however wide you need it (1 1/4-1 1/2") and weld it along the side of the unibody rail then weld your SFC to it. make sense ?

Given how weak the mounting point for the SFC is anyway, having a 6-8" long section that isn't welded isn't going to make any difference at all. As long as you can get a weld point at the front of the where the front part connects and one at the rear of the where the front part connects, you'll get as much benefit as an SFC can give you. FWIW, the ShoShop only recommends welding in three spots on the front anyway -- no need to go overboard on it...

A sledge hammer to the floor to get it back down, the squeeze the section with a C-clamp til' its right.

Yeah.... that can't happen the floor is above that and that is a brace of sorts that comes down so hitting the floor is pretty much useless. Just weld something in there o fill the gap and you should be good, but if you want to bend it out it's going to be a lot harder.

I just made a good suggestion on how to fix this underbody dent. maybe You did'nt under stand. Open the door, remove seats if needed, grab a sledgehammer and wack it back down, then go under the car and find away ro squeeze the kink out of the flimsy little support if it not already good enough.

I understood, but I am just HIGHLY doubting that a c-clamp is going to just push that right back out

Flat tire, time to sell it and buy another SHO with good tires!

On a side note my cousins 95 Talon TSi got a flat in his garage and he almost did sell it just because he didn't wanna deal with the tire :squint:

I'm inclined to agree with Lance. I would change the strut tension rod bushings, the fuel filter, then weld the sfc's on there. If the gap is really bothering you get a few pieces of scrap steel and birdge the gap on the sides of the sfc and the sides of the floorpan support piece. Make sense? You can easily fab a solution, it will just take a little extra work.

It is better to start a new thread on a new topic, that way people can concentrate on your problem only.

It looks terrible, but it can be fixed if you have the time and access to a welder. You have to remove that subframe bolt assembly, fab-up a pad where your bolt hole is supposed to be, and weld in your new pad. Then slather the area with seam sealer to stop it from happening again.

It is an ugly job, but no one will see it anyways.
