2 months ago or so I put a frickin used ac compressor in... charged the system, found out I had a leak so I waited until I could get a hose. Which was today... I installed the hose, vacuumed down the system, and guess what... damn compressor won't kick on, I checked the fuse under the dash and the one under the hood.
I'm so mad, I was so excited to get my ac back.... any ideas whats wrong with it? the clutch turns fine.

2 things.

First is that the low pressure cutoff switch could be bad, you could temporarily jumper it and see if the compressor kicks on.

second, the compressor clutch could be miss-shimmed. if the jumper thing doesnt work, tap on the compressor clutch when the car running and the ac on. If it kicks on it's not shimmed right.

There's a how-to here somewhere about shimming.

if there's not enough freon in the system it won't come on? Because I just vacuum'd it down I haven't pumped anything into yet. Maybe It just needs some freon? You say low pressure switch is why I mentioned that.... assuming that there's not enough =)

The blower doesn't seem to blow much for being on high... Maybe this is normal but anyone had a similar problem? Maybe i need a new blower motor?
