im just wondering if any one has repaired a blown diff pin in a mtx trans. i had the diff pin fall out on me so i put a diffrent transmission in and didnt worry about it till now when i tore the transmssion down. i found several holes in the casing and a loose diff pin in the bottom of the case. now i actual know when the diff pin just "falls" out and detroys alot of things. so im just going to try and weld the holes up in the case and weld the pin back in and see if it holds up, i think it will as everything else looks good. by the way this is in my figure eight dirt track race car so its not ever on the street. also im thinking about welding the spider gears together for more traction. if i just cut the rivets holding the ring gear on and weld the gears and then replace them with short bolts it will work. do you think the cv shafts will hold up to the abuse on dirt?

Do a research on welded diff , it consists of welding the PINS to the ring gear studs on a good working diff.

Welding the gears = shoboom.
