Hello all;
Does anyone have info on how to change a hard button automatic hvac unit controller readout from celsius to fahrenheit? My gen1 manual only covers the manual unit.
Thanks,
Joe
p.s. If anyone is considering replacing their automatic blend door actuator they should first consider going to a therapist for evaluation. lol

There is a red wire on the EATC harness(pin 20) that controls that feature. When the wire is grounded the EATC will display C. When ungrounded it will display F.

If it was reading F before and it's now reading C then the wire must be rubbing on something and grounding itself out or you inadvertently grounded it when you shouldn't have.

There is a way on the newer-- like GenIII SHO and other fords of that time going forward- that had a combo button push to toggle between F and C. Surprised this wasn't a feature on those older auto hvac units.

You hold down Max AC and defrost at the same time. That's been the go to way since the mid 90s.
