I have noticed that my paint is kind of dull in places mostly on top and doesn't have the shine it should. I have a wheel but what compounds and pads are good and such. What can I do to nurse my paint back to health? (Professional detailers are welcome here!)

Go to Autopia.org and learn.

Basically
Wash with Dish Soap to get rid of all crap.
Clay bar and ****.
Wash again
Then compound, polish and wax.

Need to do my car is full of salty goodness.
