Had an Interview in Tacoma..

So there may be a very good possibility of this New England ex-sho owner moving to Tacoma in the very near future. I had a job interview/bench test with Ted Brown Music for an instrument repair technician position on Friday. Needless to say, after four hours of working, and interviewing, it went really well. I should be getting a call sometime this week. I'm pretty excited. Spent most of the weekend in Portland, OR and both areas remind me of New England with a bit of Ireland mixed in....

Change of scenery is a good thing!

I had moved seven times for work between 1985 and 1999. Don't regret any of them.

Thanks Ron! I enjoy seeing all these older cars, and NO rust. Even saw a Gen 1 Taurus L yesterday expecting to see it rusted thru...not a spec. If that's not enough to move out there I don't know what is!!

The downside of that is that there are cars that are better off rusting into oblivion, but they live on!!

so many good places to eat and drive to and see. i'd be jealous, we were pretty much a coin flip and a phone call away when we left PHX for Minnesota back in ought 10. kinda kicking myself for it now too since I forgot my family drives me batshit crazy a lot.

Delta has been overbooking flights like crazy (woo spring break!!) so after spending 11 hours in the airport, I ended up volunteering my seat. Got a free hotel room for the night, and $400.00 for future travel. I'm young and in no rush - pretty neat stuff. Waiting to board for real. PDX is an excellent airport....

So got off the phone with the shop manager today. I've made it to the "last few" and they are making their final decision either later tonight or tomorrow morning. I'm a bit nervous and excited......

Didn't end up getting the job, solely on the fact that the other candidate already lives out there. They are keeping my resume on top tho, incase for whatever reason over the next few months things don't work out. I am bummed, I really enjoyed the few days I was out in the Pacific NW. I do however have a second interview at another shop out towards Boston, so it's a little closer to home but not as ideal of a shop.
