I've heard it's fine if you have enough fuel but I've also heard "shoboom". If the pistons are not light weight that should help. Any ideas or experiences?

Look on SHO Nut performance's website. He has heavy duty high comp pistons that will stand up to N2O. And as long as you put in copper plugs 2 ranges colder, make sure you have a good fuel pump, and install the kit correctly, it should be fine.

Being as you are planning/doing a 3.3L, I imagine you are buying some Wiseco pistons from Josh. If that is the case, get the heavy duty pistons. From what I am told, nitrous loves high compression as long as you run high octane fuel.

I have 11:1 cr pistons. They are the very ragged edge of where premium pump gas may work without detonation. If/when I use nitrous, I will need to run race gas or some serious octane booster.

Thankfully, drag racing (the only time I would have a use for nitrous) is not high on my priority list. It could be argued that I should have skipped the HD pistons to lessen the rotational mass of the engine, and maximize power for my intended use (road course). On the other hand, I only plan on building one engine for this (the only one I will ever own) SHO. I figured I should plan ahead in case I want some 1/4 mile bragging rights.

Yeah I ordered the heavy duty ones at 10:6:1 compression. There on there way. I'm also building a road coursing car but I'd like that little extra boost in the 1/4th mile sometimes and the extra piston mass keeping me at ease. Thanks for the info!

190lph fuel pump would give me enough fuel right?
