Guessing on what this is

I'm going to guess this is some kind of silencing box for the intake and can be taken off and plugged without worry if issue? This is located just in front of the throttle body.

It's a noisemaker, its useless.

If you'd rather not plug it, you can get the MKS pipe or there is a company out there that makes a delete pipe for it that you can have powered coated. Otherwise you can get an expansion plug from napa for around $5 and just use that.

It’s only purpose is to pipe engine noise to the cabin for a ‘sportier’ sound. Kinda dumb huh.

There is a thread about this on here with different caps and what not that people have used. For fear of boost leaks though I just went with the EPP delete. Sucks to pay $150 for a little piece of pipe but it’s also piece of mind.

Edit: plus, it makes the price of the hot pipe kit later a tad easier to swallow. Not much... but a tad. Haha

I would definitely recommend getting piping instead of just capping it off. Caps have been known to fly off and create boost leaks, or just slowly deteriorate and leak over time. Getting the piping is worth the extra $$$

Yikes! I know what I'm grabbing if I ever see a MKS at the U pick yard.

If you search that part number, the images look like it comes with the 3-bar TIP sensor installed.
