After replacing my motor i cant find where a ground strap type thing goes. It is about 18 inches long and has the same round things on the end. Can someone elaborate?????

Let's say you're looking from the front of the car, facing the engine....on the back left of the intake manifold (near the passenger's side shock tower) facing the firewall there should be either a bolt-hole or a intake manifold support bracket. The big round thing goes there....the smaller end gets screwed to the firewall right above the shock tower...you should see a lil hole in the firewall there.

Simple as that..

:oogle: Whoa...ummm....I don't think so......

If you're not getting spark after changing the engine, there's a loooooooong list of shxt it could be. Obviously start with the simple stuff......CKP, DIS, make sure you have ALL your connections right....I think Toolman had a problem with the harness that goes under the TB across the top of the tranny...not entirly the same symptoms, but it's worth a check...along with the rest of the harness.

The ground strap that connects to the back of the intake and to the firewall is VITAL to the operation of the motor. It is the ground for the DIS.

When i painted my intake i didnt sand down where the strap bolted to or where the crossover tube support brackets touched metal. Had no spark and no starting..5 minutes worth of sanding and it started right up.
