Is there anyone in the Greensboro area here? I found a car I am interested in and would send a few bucks via PayPal your way if anyone would be so kind as to go check it out for me before I make either a 10 hour drive or a flight up there. Another car similar to it that I was looking at has already sold. I am planning to go up this weekend to get it if possible. PM me. Thanks.

Oh you ****** your looking at the Green Gen II aren't you? I was just about to call on that car.

I can't do anything today, I'm free late next week. The cars only a few minutes from me. I'll let you know. :sun:

Seriously, You bastard.

I don't think the one I'm looking at is green; maybe it is. It's hard to tell from the pics. I am going to call about it shortly. I missed out on another one in FL. They pulled the ad last night so I'm assuming it's sold. I'm going to get more detailed info and pics on this one and if it looks good. I'm going to PayPal the guy a $100 deposit if he's ok with that and get something in writing saying that he will hold the car for me. Then I may head up there this coming weekend and if it's a POS, I'm out $100 and some gas or airline miles to get up there, no big deal.

Oh, I guess I am colorblind then. I thought it was black. That's it. I'm sure someone else will beat me to the punch as usual.

The seller for the other car e-mailed me back in FL saying it wasn't sold and that he didn't know why the CL ad was taken down. I still may go for that one. It's not quite as far away. The damn a/c doesn't work though!

There's something fishy about this one in FL. I pulled an AutoCheck on it. Looks like it had odometer rollback (feasible since it has white faced gauges). It also has 214k according to this; ad said 133k. Something is definitely up with that.

I just called the seller about the one in your area. I can give you the detail he gave me if you'd like.

The a/c works. The car doesn't have any rust; good solid body. The guy that owns it is a GM mechanic. He bought it from a customer who said the car had shut off on him driving down the interstate. He looked at it and said the timing was off 3 notches. The belt had previously been replaced but somehow it got off time. He noticed a dirt dobber's nest around the timing cover area(car had sat up for about 6 months). Not sure if that buildup had anything to do with it getting out of time. I think he replaced the belt again and cleaned out the timing cover area. As the ad states, the car has a new clutch in it as well as some other stuff. He replaced the e-brake cables as well. There is one mis-matched tire as it had a bubble in it and had to be replaced. It's a Continental tire, I think. The rest are Bridgestone.

Cosmetically the paint is in decent shape, but he said the top had a little fading and believed someone re-cleared it. The trim around the back windows is fading a little, and the louvered sunroof shade material is coming off (which we know is common--don't know if you could find a solid black one around). My 93 had mocha interior and had the solid shade.

He said some college kid called about a week ago but was waiting for some $ to come in but hasn't heard from him yet. He's going to send me more pics.

I know you're alot closer and have easier/quicker access to buying it. If for whatever reason you don't get it, let me know if it's an ok car and I may make him an offer. No rod bearings have been done to it though, which is probably an easy job for you to do; not so much me.

I'd make the trip up there if the car is worth it but whatever I buy this time around, I'd rather have a SHO enthusiast check it out. He said he could probably take a deposit, so if you don't snatch it up and still think it's a worthwhile car; I might grab it.

Oh shit, Judging by your description I've called on this car before, About a month ago and was supposed to go look at it but the day I was supposed to do so my truck started acting Funny.

With that said, We'll see. My girlfriend is looking to dump her Civic, Make a Profit off of it and then pick up a 5 speed SHO. Nothings set in stone and if she doesn't want it I'll let you know. I will take a look at it pretty soon.

He is supposed to send additional pics my way. I'll let you know when I get them. If you want me to send them to you, I will. Since you're right there, it'd probably be easier for you to go look at in person though.

It's all yours buddy. She's decided AGAINST a craigslist car and would rather purchase one off the Forum if at all possible. I'll still see if I can take a look at the car for you later this week.
