OH you didn't know
Trying to diagnose my fuel pump issue(not turning on) I found a gray connector with a single black wire in the rear of the engine. Does anyone know if this is a ground wire. I put my test light to it and nothing.

That is possibly the STO connector for self test if it is in the same wire loom with EEC self test connector near A/C Reciever/Dryer.Square gray connector????Check your Inertia switch,if it isnt tripped check for power to the switch(if ok check the fuel pump)

His inertia switch it fine... The fuel pump will work if he runs a seperat line from the CCRM to the fuel pump. My guess is that a wire is not grounded or a wire was broken during the motor swap.

OK,is there power coming out of the CCRM(PK/BK wire pin #5)on it's connector?Remember, the fuel pump cuircuits will only have power for a few seconds after the Ign. switch is turned on.If the PCM doesn't see an RPM signal it opens the ground for the fuel pump relay so pump doesn't keep running when the engine is not.

Does the ECU get the signal from the coil pack? Now if the coil pack were bad, is it possible the pump would not cycle either?

No,the PCM gets a RPM signal from the CKP sensor, the pump will run for a few seconds just by turning the key on.check for power at Inertia switch this will help norrow down where to start looking for the problem.if it has power to it the wire's to the tank may be at fault.you need a starting point for diag.post result.
