Well this week I replaced the oil pan gasket on the 92 thinking that was the problem of the smoke that I was experiencing from under the hood. After everything was put back together last night, I fired her up and let her build oil pressure a bit and inspected the oil pan to see that she was dry as a bone! Success! buuuuut....

While under the car I noticed some smoke flowing out from the front ypipe/header spot. I retightened that sucker down, but it still is doing it...do I have a clogged cat on the front bank? Just trying to fix this thing up a bit. I recently got nearly 27 mpg on my trip to my family reunion last weekend...I dunno...

Could you elaborate on this "front ypipe/header spot", Jerms?

Need ... more ... details. :D

Well, I can honestly say I know nothing about that car...hehe.
The only time the y pipe was off was when the tranny was replaced back in 01 or so, but seems weird to get smoke coming outta there...
Could always pull it off and try blowing air thru it? Only 6 bolts, 2 o2 sensors, and a hanger :thumb:

Gimme a call on a weekend sometime, would love to catch up and pick your brain for a few things.. If you need the magic 10 digits, PM me and I'll send em.

Did you use antiseize on your exhaust manifold to y-pipe studs (you should)? Because if you did it will smoke like a **** for awhile after starting it up. Then again you would've smelled the foul odor of that stuff, wouldn't you've?
