I have a weird problem that began about two weeks ago with my 93 SHO "ATX" 3.2L. It will start up perfectly "with no hesitation" and run perfect a few times, but sometimes it will start and begin to run real rough. I put the accelerator down a little bit, and it roughly smooths itself out. If I do not use the accelerator to help smooth it out when this happens, the car "WILL" stall out and I have to start it again. Whether it is a good start up, or a rough one the car runs perfect every time while driving. "RPM" does not flutter at all, and is smooth the whole time. I have recently installed a Mass air flow sensor from Auto Zone (4 Mos ago), because the previous one malfunctioned, and caused my convertors to burn up. Ford says I have 10lbs of back pressure from the drivers side cat, and 8lbs from the passenger side. Haven't been able to fix them yet "Too expensive", and still driving with the bad cats. Could they be affecting my startup?? The mechanic said if my car was a 4 cylinder it wouldn't even be running with that much back pressure. I haven't done my plugs for about a year, but used the Motorcraft "Double platinums" so they should be fine. Any help is much appreciated!! Take care :D

It sounds like your catalytic converters are randomly plugging up due to the loose material inside them. You need some new cats or a high flow Y-pipe from Performance Plus or the SHO Shop.
