I need help on a project. I currently own a 02 Chevy Impala. Please don't yell it's a company car. I have my 94 Opal Frost ATX in my garage but would like to find a local GOOD mechanic to pay cash for the following. You can take the car for a week and do it right.

Both 02 sensors
Valve cover gaskets Both sides
wires (it has brand new plugs)
VSS cable
The 60k was done with the exception of valve lash. It now has 102k and I would like the lash adjusted, this is optional work for the mechanic. Please leave a name and number so I may contact you.

Thanks guys!!!!

You have been posting on this same thing for a while now. I have twice offered to HELP you, but it appears that you merely want to hire someone to do the work for you, rather than LEARN how to maintain your own vehicle. As BOTH of my previous offers to help you have gone unaknowledged, there will not be a third. You are on your own!

Enjoy the ride out to Madison and let Doug at Performance Plus do it. He is one of the best with SHOs. I have been there for 2 clutches in the 92, and 1 in the wiffies 95.

Sorry for the last post, but my dad works 75 or more hours a week and still has time to do all his mechanical work on 7 fleet trucks and his 2 personal cars. Not to mention the classics that he has restored to original condition (56 Ford PU, 38 Ford PU in progress)

All I meant by my comment was that you can have the satisfaction of having the work done yourself and correctly. Mechanics get paid by the book quote on labor. That's why so often they get in a rush and screw up. I hated having to pay someone else to put my clutch in, and boy am I sorry I did. Now, my motor mounts aren't much count and the trans still leaks fluid after 3 trips back to have it "fixed", when it never leaked before. Plus, you'll save a butload of money. Labor isn't cheap. Sorry if I offended you.

I would also recommend Doug and Cathy at Performance Plus in Madison. They did the 60K on my 94MTX (Yes, I stopped in there while on a road trip to the Midwest). The only thing I would recommend is to have Doug adjust ALL the valve gaps to the "tight" end of the tolerance. His practice is to only change shims where the gap is out of tolerance. I'm not due for my next 60K yet, but my valve train is a little noisey and I wish I would have known enough then to have Doug tighten them all up.
