For those that didn't know, Eric's racing a night race at Firebird in Ol' 97, AKA, the Pumpkin. I'm heading over to Firebird Raceway shortly to help pit for him. Come on out and support the only SHO that kicks ass on Arizona tracks.

I'd definitely be up for coming along and supporting Eric.

TT event for me.

Got in two warm-up laps, had to come off the track each time.

Car broke. We made some valiant efforts at diagnose and repair. Still broke. We gave up and came home. :cry: :shakehead

The engine pretty much turns off at about 5-6k rpm...comes back on below that. We verified (well, repaird) the bypass that makes the 'puter think the tranny is in drive so that the 4k rev limit is disabled. It revs fine in neutral or first gear, but in 2nd or 3rd you get to 5k-6k rpm and it just shuts off.

Tom cleaned the MAF, and it raised the rpm a bit before it shut off.

We're open to ideas as to what's going on.

Here's a vid, it's short, about 2.5M.

You can see that the tach gets to about 6k rpm before it quits the first time, then after that when it hits 5k it quits. It doesn't do it in first gear so it has some load dependence.

Ya, deffintly sounds like a rev limiter type of thing.

So, Tom cleaned the MAF and the rpms went up? May want to atleast check the ground and source voltage to it? Hmmm
