I have seen Zex for $460 for new...and even less for slightly used setups. Sometimes, the used ones come with bottle opener, bottle warmer, etc.

NOS has a system "for the SHO", but everyone says that the zex system is easier to hookup. :thumb: The zex system (82011) doesnt specifically call out the SHO, but many have found it works well.

I have been contemplating the idea of nitrous.

Are you asking me??

If you are, they are all over ebay. **Not my auctions**

82011 Zex Kit

Just search ebay for "82011".

The kit comes with the 55, 65, and 75 shot nozzles. I am quite certain that the kit can be run with a 25, 35, etc. You can purhcase those nozzles (like 20 bucks for 3 I think, from Zex.com) You can run almost any size nozzle...its just that the 55, 65, & 75 are pretty common...a decent shot, but not usually big enough to break things abruptly.

I don't know, mine seemed pretty easy to install. I took a little longer to install it maybe, about 5 hours, but I cleaned all the threads with a wire brush to get the old teflon off, then I had to re-wire everything and add some to it, since it was used. That was working in slow, relaxed mode.

I dont think the NOS system is any harder...just takes longer. The average time to install the zex is supposed to be like 2 hours.

Keep in mind, I do not have a kit.....yet  so I dont know for sure...just reading up on all of it. :thumb:

can a working atx tranny take it? 55 shot that is

Any working tranny can take it...but for how long is the question. How long for yours? Depends on shot size, how often you do it, how "good" your tranny is now, etc.

I was saying you could buy that kit...and buy a 25-35 nozzle from zex...and for $500, you would have a new kit with a new size nozzle that you are looking for.

A trans will take more than 100 hp shot it is the actual shifting hard, dumping clutch, or slipping the Atx that will burn one up.

my atx slips from first to second when i try to let off at about 3 grand in first, even if on th accelerator, when i am constatly putting on the accelorator it shifts perfect, the Zex kit works off you pushing on the gas (floored), so it should be ok at 55 shot?

is that NOS kit a wet kit? If it is, you better inject it directly into the secondary runners or you risk it puddling up in the intake which is a disaster waiting to happen.

I have the zex kit and it works nicely. I pulled on an 04 M3 at the track w/ a 75 shot

We installed a zex kit on my friends LSC in less than an hour.
