Hey everybody. I'm planning a camping trip this weekend with the girlfriend and roomate and I was wondering if anyone knows of some good spots. I was thinking somewhere between Prescot and Flag but I'm unfamiliar with that area. I was also thinking someplace secluded, not a KOA type place where you can hear the folks camping next to you. Any ideas? Thanks.

I am not sure of the name of the camp ground but on the road between Pescott to Jerome there is a campground right at the top of the pass before you head down into the switchback for Jerome.

Its high elevantion and in the trees and you camp literally on the edge of the rim looking north. You have an excellent view of the color rocks in Sedona, the Verde Valley and San Francisco Peaks.

There is are hundreds of places to go based on your requirements but this come to mind first.

Hey, thanks everyone. I looked at a lot of places between prescott, payson and Flag. We found a pretty cool place around payson, up north a bit, near a lake where fires are allowed. I'm sure this trip will get me back in touch with my high elevation roots and I'll want to do it more. Anyhoo, I look foreward to the AzSHOC meet. I hope to successfully instal my ZEX hondo shot kit.

Mike, where have you been dude?

I was in Miami Florida for a week on business. Stayed at a hotel on South beach. Shaq was there. So was Paulie from the Soprano's. As good as it sounds, I worked pretty hard.
