Other then using a supercharger/turbo and nitrous, what are the best possible things to buy, do, or whatever possible, to get more horsepower. I already have exhaust so let the ideas flow!!

From my experience, it is a waste of time and money. The gains will be so minute... nothing the butt dyno could even detect. IMO, the only mods worth the effort are aesthetic. (Is lowering aesthetic? :dribble: )
And like your other thread... getting the v8 tone unleashed :thumb:

I tried the VAK and the XCal. Even though some gain was made at the dragstrip, I was disappointed. But to the diehard, who wants every ounce of HP squeezed out, then these mods are worth it. I still couldn't get my sho into the 9's in the 1/8, so I gave up :p

But to try to answer your question: (which Ian already did)...
1.VAK (if theres any more available)
2.XCal
3.BBB's- have these even been produced by Kirk and Chris yet?

You might get the best gain from BBB's if they're ever available again and by deleting the SAI (you would have to plug the hole and need a chip, reflash, or tuner).

Get a Xcal2, a Wide Band O2 and the SCT Advantage software. Loads of fun.

This might make me sound like a ***** but what about them electric turbo things. Some of them say they get like 2 psi, so wouldnt anything about 1psi be a gain in hp since the intake is becoming pressurized. I am not sure if they can spin fast enough to do that but I am just saying.

LMFAO, it is so funny that you mentioned that b/c I was looking those up online today to learn more about them. They have this "Super E-Ram" electric supercharger and it can ad up to 30hp at 2psi. I wonder if these things really work, AND if they really sound like a supercharger?

Here is the link to the site: http://www.electricsupercharger.com/installationexamples.shtml

Use the Search function. The E-ram has been discussed many times and you can find all the information you need by searching. But to make a long story short, the E-ram is a waste of time and money.

The BBBs for the Gen 3 actually had a big power gain from them. If i remember correctly, i read an article about them that on their final tests, one Gen 3 was making like 25-30 extra HP...

Kool Aide talk there.

You mean about my comment? Everyone knows that the biggest problem with the Gen 3 engine is its bottleneck intake system. I remember also reading that if there woudl of been more clearance under the hood, there would of been an intake very similar to the v6 SHO intake, with real secondaries and all. So buy putting BBBs in the Gen 3, i can honestly believe that it would be a very big increase.

I don't think you would get 2 or 3 hp out of BBB for the V8. It is not intake restricted to any great degree.

The bottleneck in the V8 intake system is where the sax goes into the fender. The intake is not a true dual-runner system like the Gen 2, but the problem with the V8 intake is not poor flow at high rpms. The problem is that it does not (and cannot) achieve the dual peak of torque and HP that the V6 can, because there is only one runner per cylinder in the V8, hence there is only one point of peak resonance.

Of course this begs the perennial posting of the real V8 intake.

Is that real? What's the story with that? A true dual runner setup would be sweet on this motor.

Any idea about the difference in performance as compared to the current setup?
