This was probably posted before, but I don't exactly know what to search for. I need to get Virginia registration stickers off my windshield, as well has the Air Bag stickers off the side windows. Is there a product that takes the sticky crap off easily? I've tried taking a razor blade and carefully going over the area, and it's not working. Any suggestions?

I had a similar issue not long ago ... and to get the remnants off, saturated about 1/3 of a small terry cloth towel with rubbing alcohol and applied it to the sticky area for 30 sec to 1 minute. By then you could basically just smear off the bulk (or use some sort of scraper) and repeat the process until there was nothing left. All told it'll probably only take a couple of applications and 10 to 15 minutes.

One caveat: this only works if you have the printed portion of the sticker removed :D I apologize if I stated the obvious ...

MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) will take it off in a snap, just don't spill or drip any on the plastic- it will literally melt it! And you really should wear gloves when using the stuff too!

They do sell products that are made for bumper sticker removal. I have used it from taking of pinstripping to tar removal but I know MEK will definately do the job.

Yeah, the sticky **** won't come off with the razorblade. Goo Gone sounds good, if not, I'll find out where I can get some MEK.

soak the residue with windex, then scrape it with a razor blade, I inspect vehicles everyday here at the dealership (Virginia), a long handle scraper will help, it will come right off :thumb:

I didn't want to scratch it.

You folks in Virginia are crazy with your registration stickers. Why do they have to be right in the damn middle, where they're hard as **** to get to? Couldn't you put them in the bottom corner (where we in florida put our park and beach passes)?

Anyway, I used some "De-Solv-It" and the stuff came right off of the side windows. i don't have a long handle scraper (well I do, but it's got spackle all over it from when my dad patched a hole in the wall). I'll see if I can find a clean one. This De-Solv-It stuff is great.
