there are millions of turbochargers that "might" work, but it would be an ENTIRELY custom application that i would not even attempt without an exhaust shop in my back yard.

here's a very short list of the parts you'll need -

the turbocharger
custom up pipe
custom down pipe
custom headers
intake hosing
oil feed line
oil return line
tapped head
tapped oil pan
injectors
custom-programmed computer
boost controller
wastegate
blow off valve
intercooler

and i'm sure i missed a TON of stuff.
.. just to give you an idea.. and you'll have to piece it all together by yourself. no one makes a kit.

if you're serious about it, or serious about turbo's at all, go check out "maximum boost" from the library. it's by a guy named corky bell i believe.

Enough money can make anything happen. The main thing Tito neglected to include was space.

I doubt it can be done, but if you do it let us know I would love to be proved wrong on this. There is nothing that I would love more than A turbocharged SHO. Good luck in your quest no matter what happens.

You doubt it can be done? You Gen III's guys are negative. Like ArkanSHO says anything can be done with the right money and the right handyman. Just gotta find the person with both those things not just one.

I think it's safe to say that many here have invested more time and money in our cars than most people short of a race crew invest.

Look at Carter's car. It took more than pulling something off a shelf to make that happen!

I think that it just takes the right amount of dedication and desire to make something happen. Your time and money are yours to use as you want.

The truth is that if you aren't into developing something yourself, you'd better have a really good friend who is willing to spend many a night working on your car, but some good craftsmanship and the right combination of mechanical, electrical and electronic resources can make anything possible.

Good luck in your endeavor!

I know a guy in Florida that could Turbo a V8SHO, I just didn't have a car for him to fab on. I did leave him with a motor though. He had a real sweat looking Infinity V8 with twin turbos he was finishing up in the shop when I was there last.
I think he planned on putting a turbo on the engine that I left behind and mounting it in some kit car.

Carter everyone that knows Turbos knows of Mr KNight..

The Turbo would be the better way to go, Like Carter said though With enough money anything can be done.. That statement is so true!

Im sure someday someone will adapt one, and that will be one Smokin MFer :)

Perhaps a fast start would be to buy the twin turbo components from the Toyota Celica of the early '90s. It would have faced similar space considerations. Though this would not address possible internal motor considerations such as pistons, rings, and connecting rods.

I must have been living under a rock for to many years as I had never heard of him until early 2002. Of course my last turbo powered car was back in the late 70's. A few improvements have been made since then.
He had suggested he could make a turbo V8 SHO but said fab time would be extensive given the space limitations. I was more interested in getting a PD (roots based) blower more then a turbo (hated the heat issues I always had with mine and subsequent detonation) when I originally started looking into the whole forced induction design to be honest. Cheapest PD based system was going to run me ~$50,000 (quoted from Whipple) and 6 months to prototype.
