I measured the LS6 at 4" narrower (header to header) and 6" shorter (intake to oil pan) than the SHO V6.


Wow, I have always imagined an LSx engine. My Formula has an LT1. But one in my '91 would be absolutely incredible. I'm just wondering if an LS4 would be a better fit? GM put the TB on the backside of the intake due to lack of engine bay space. That would be a nice little project LS4/MTX powered SHO!@@@

Unless you can prove that the Gen 4 car you built was running and driving before Sunday February 11, then I'm afraid you'll need to withdraw your claim that Kirk's Gen 4 SHO isn't the FIRST. Of course you won't and will just obfuscate and continue your sleazy self aggrandizement.

I've tried to stay out of your childish little personal grudge with Kirk for 3 years now, but your incessant pomposity has really become tiring. I've tried to remain polite and neutral, but I'm not sure it's been worth it.

Kirk and his Gen 4 SHO will actually SHOw up at this year's convention in Kalamazoo. Will you? Maybe you and he can finally hammer out your differences and you can put your campaign of one-upmanship to rest.

Too many big words. Can you put it in Lehmann's terkms next time? Things like "***" and "bong" work well for me, in a format I can understand.

Very nice. We had ours running a week ago. Just gotta get a custom exhaust bent for it (still trying to decide whether to go with side outlet or conventional, and we've been buried in snow since Wed.).

I can't speak for Doug, but for us it was about 70 hours total which included rebuilding a cam failure motor. We probably lost about 10 hours working around a bug in the SCT software that wouldn't disable the PATS module properly. We've also got a '97 Sable getting a SHO drivetrain that should be done soon too.

where did you find the parts to rebuild your motor. my motor had cam falure fixed it and now has spun a bearing. and how much did it cost you.

We rebuild several V8 SHO motors every month. Usually at least 5-6. We have an extensive inventory of parts on hand just for that purpose. With few exceptions, all the needed parts are available, you just need to locate them and pay the piper.

On a spun bearing motor, rebuilding it is not economically feasible. You're better off finding another motor.

Got a phone call form James after he got home. He is still very pleased. Got 26.6mpg on the 2800 mile trip.
