Well Hello people... OK so.. Ive been thinking alot about finally swapping out my engine. Id just like to get some info.

Anyways I have a 05 Ford Taurus Se. Its a 3.0 ohv (Vulcan) edition with 63k on the clock. Nothing is wrong with the car at all. Pics of my car (if you care)

Ok so I know that MTX would be the way to go on both swaps.. But iirc didn't some of the V6s come with ATX which have the same bell housing patten as the Vulcan's AX4S/AX4N? Which in turn should bolt right up correct?

Then again I've read that the V8 SHO swap would be more ideal. Due to the the V6 not having EEC-V. If the V6 bolts right up wouldn't it be less of a hassle than the V8. Don't get me wrong Id rather do the V8 swap Im just tossing some Ideas around. Input is appreciated.

PS: I plan on changing the rims so give me a break on that lol.

I remember this car well, never seen it in person:dribble: no doubt you've got a lot in it and I'm sure its a sweet ride.

If money isn't an issue I think I'd hafta go with the 3.2 MTX full Yamaha, unless you don't like rowing then I guess its a toss up.

Hint : the subframe bolts right in :)

Its far from plug and play , but if you have a little bit of electrical basics some tools , time and will power you can make it happen.

Hey Phenoix, haha

Man I can't stop staring at you V6 SHO :) Although Id love to do the V8 swap every tim I find a decent looking donor car.. the engine ends up being a cam failure. (happened 3 times now lol) Plus the fact that every year them V8 beasts are getting harder and harder to find. This all makes me learn more towards the V6 swap.
I know the electrical will be tedious to say the least but Im sure it could get worked out.

Did you do all your work or have a shop mess with it for you? How hard was getting the mechanics of it all to play nice, any thing have to custom fabbed to get it to work? Anything I should be worried about since I have a 05 and you used a 2002? IIRC some of the emmission are different like the location of the evap canister. The V8 would be the best way to go I know but **** even the v6 is an improvement over my 154 whp Vulcan haha.

Also this car is more of a show car. Ill be changing out the rims... But the sub woofers will stay... I got about 400lbs in the trunk :

Sub woofer Box Build

I have already upgraded the brakes and suspension to accomadate.. I do still need to do the 13" front brakes tho haha.

Cargo Coils in the back to help with the 400lbs in the trunk

Another post just today or yesterday is from a fellow whose low miles, already welded V* just got totaled and he is thinking of not bothering to buy it and part it out. Make him an offer on the motor so he can get it and then part out the rest of it without it costing him and everyone makes out. You get a cheap V8 in good shape that slots right in, he gets the eventual profit from the rest of the parts, and the community gets the value of getting those parts rather than them going to the scrap metal market.

Haha yeah I seen that post actually. I know the V8 is best manual rather than automatic. But like i stated this isnt goin to be a track car by any means. With that in place... how would the automatic trans from the 99 fair with the v8 swap? IIRC There was an automatic swap done but they changed to manual. Any set reason why?

I did all the work , even the powdercoat. Only the bodywork was done elsewhere.

ALL GEN4 taurus have the same body , subframe and so forth. Only the bumpers changed , maybe the dash...

Just so you know 89 seats will bolt in a 2005 , so is the subframe. So yeah , they didnt change much.
