My brother has a gen I Taurus (sLo, not sHo), and I have a head unit lined up to toss in there for him. The head unit is din, but I don't think the stock one is. How have you guys gotten around this?

Thanks.

There are adapter brackets available at any major electr. store (Best Buy, Circuit City) to make the new head unit fit. My new deck (Pioneer) came with brackets unique for the '89 mounting setup, and it fits well.

If his SLO happens to have the Ford premium sound set up (which is rare) I have found it hard to find the adapter harnesses to install an aftermarket radio. I think this might be because in order to install an aftermarket radio I think you would have to bypass the factory amp for the aftermarket head unit to work. shrug
