The SHO wouldn't exist if the Taurus didn't exist. Give credit where credit is due.
For those that don't care about the "SLOs", that's fine, but do you think Ford would have recreated the SHO if the Taurus didn't exist? I don't think so. So have a little respect for the "regular Taurus" - sheesh!
I absolutely respect the Taurus. I remember back in the days when I first bought the forum and many SHO owners basically disowned the SLO and shunned their owners. I was one of the only people who acknowledged, welcomed and encouraged the SLO owners to come on-board here on this forum as well as on TCCA. Some of you old timers who have been around that long know and can vouch for me on that.
But back on the Generation 4 SHO thing, forgive me if I have a little pride in the
breed of car that I drive, just as the SLO owners have pride in the Taurus. It's not
just a Taurus to me, it's an SHO. As you can see, my pride doesn't stem from the name Taurus, it stems from those 3 little letters; S-H-O. Arrogant on my part? I like to think not, but that's how I feel. Aside from that, this is
SHOForum.com.
While I have been reminded once today that logic has no place on the internet, I am still a logical minded person and I cannot change that. We have the Gen 1 - 89-91, Gen 2 - 92-95, Gen 3 - 96-99 SHOs. It's only logical that the next generation, regardless of the year, be called a Generation 4. We don't count 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, etc. That just doesn't make sense, and would be confusing to those who will be coming into "our world" when the new SHO is released.
That's my feelings on the matter. Like I said, you guys call it whatever the heck you want to, the important thing is that
Ford actually listened to us and brought the SHO back!
