Hi

Just a quick question would the Gen 4 front seats fit in a Gen 3 without any difficulties? also would the power seat plug be different.:nut:

Thank you in advance

I do not think there is any way for anyone in the general public to know yet, as the Gen IV SHO is still not available. As a pure blue sky guess, I would say I doubt the plug will work and it is also very possible even the tracks will not match.

I guess this is where the term gen 4 becomes confusing.......

Aside from it being in the SHO forum, I didn't see him mention SHO in anything.

Hi,

Yes I know I didn't mention SHO in my question but yes it is a Gen 3 SHO. I was looking at a set of seats from a 01 Taurus Gen 4 I call it. Just wanted to know if they would fit.

Good post.. I didn't know Gen 3 seats fit in a gen without modification (fronts) until recently.. I'm assuming these would work in a Gen 2 as well the same way?

May have to rewire the plugs. But they do fit in the Gen 1,2,3 and 4 Tauruses.

The gen 3 SHO has some really nice seats, so, why change them? Are the newer "Taurus" seats better? (notice I didn't say gen 4.:nut:)

Hi

Yes I do have the seats but they are worn, So I was trying to find a good used set but was not able to. That's why I was looking at the new taurus's to see if they were the same just want to get a set of good seats.

Scott, feel free to pistol-whip the wisecrackers! I'll make sure to route a few of them your way when they're in Nashua for the convention in July!

Remind me what color your interior is again. I'm thinking tan. I know we had it written down on the whiteboard with your list of things you were looking for, and I'm sure it got written on paper before we erased it off the board but I'm not gonna promise we can find it!

If they are tan, we still have nothing for '99 seats, so yeah if you can get regular '99-'07 Taurus seats in good shape for cheap those will fit until some real SHO seats come along. The regular Taurus seats are definitely inferior to the SHO seats, but you may be stuck going that route for now...

Have you tried ebay? I saw some Gen3 SHO front seats on there not too long ago.

I just checked ebay and there is the back of a seat/cargo net from a Gen3 and also a couple of headrests. They are tan. The seller is Midnight Autoparts, I think his name is Ray and he has been on here before. Anyway, you may want to contact him and ask if he has the rest of the seats.
