I searched and found one post that mentioned it. I have a 1990 Taurus SHO. And want to know if you can use gen 3 ball joints on gen1? Or would it be cheaper/ less hassle to replace the whole lca with a new one? Also shosource lists the ones for taurus and sho's are different. I don't want to put junk on my car and have it break in a week. Thanks Mike

And you have to replace the whole LCA to change the ball joint on a gen 1/2

the gen 1 & 2 ball joints are integrated into the LCA and therefore cannot be serviced seperately.
