amber looks ugly

I wouldn't consider these tails a cosmetic upgrade. They just look different. Ugly, but different. Now if we can figure out if they're OEM / AEM tails. . . .

I like the Plus amber tail lights:evilgrin: . I'm sure if you really wanted to, you could make some home made amber lights using the tail lights from the gen 2. It would take a dremel, some epoxy and some amber colored plastic. I mean sure it won't probably look as good as the ones in the pictures, but it sure would be different.

They may be OEM in the contries that require them. There was a thred a while back of a bunch of SHO's for sale in Germany, and they all had the amber squares, but they all looked like they were just screwed on, so maybe they just had to be modified for those specific companies. Kind of like importing a foreign car; you need to meet all the emmisions testing and stuff...

Nope, don't like it at all.

Gotta say that yes, to each his own. But for me, that gets thrown into the same list as pretty much anything that came out of West Coast Customs on PMR-

"We put an expresso machine in your car!"
"We put a waterfall in your car!"
"We put a grind rail on your car!"
"We put taillights with a yellow rectangle on your car!"

:oogle: Not for me!

Not everything that happens overseas is an upgrade just because it's different... Remember this one?

Until someone can get a good rear end shot of amber lenses, I still say they don't exist, from the factory or aftermarket. Homemade is the only way to get them.

YES!!YES!!! I KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS ONE!!!! those are the wheels used on the 2003 centennial edition taurus(100 years for Ford) they then turned them into accessorie wheels kits where you get the wheel, center cap and 5 lug nuts for the large sum of $56 RETAIL!!! bad news is about 3 weeks ago i ordered 4 for a black on black atx i'm doing at the moment, and they were the last 4 from ford, as they went obsolete the next week. have them sitting in the corner until the trans is finished. they are still in the dealer system, and we've had calls with other dealers wanting to buy them...lol. i say sorry they are for me....:laugh_ti:

I don't like those amber tails at all, the amber color makes the car seem really old and outdated and second I think there is to much going on, to many different color and shapes on one light.

They look like crap with the alternating amber lines on the outsides and the smaller part in the middle.

Interesting... Why 2 amber sections though?? I'm thinking they were only made for the small number exported to other countries. They do look factory, but possibly homemade. After all, some of the HID retros that have been done look factory too(not on SHOs though).

i agree. i really don't think it would look so bad if the rest of the reflector lines lined up. the outer ones are offset. maybe if they just took one of the lines and made it amber all the way across too.

Also, these taillights exist because many, many countries outside the US require amber rear turn signals.

Ugly as these are, they are compliant.

Not ugly at all, I like them a lot.
It is a wonder the GenII series of SHOs did not have an edition with these lights; like the SHO plus in the GenIs.
Nice find; the search is over.
