Gen 2 Dash and interior in Gen 1

As the two generations are vastly similar I was wondering if the majority of the interior is dimensionally capable of fitting and if so are the mounts in the same place?:thankyou:

No first-hand experience, but as far as I know, everything is interchangeable to a point. The inside door handles are in a different location, so the door panels are not a great fit. But the whole door can be swapped. The dash is the same dimensionally, and mounts the same way. All the other stuff fits (carpet, seats, rear tray, headliner).

This would be a very fast way to make your White+ a whole lot less desirable. You want to try this out, get a 90 SHO and have at it. Do this to a White 91+ and you might as well gut it and make it a track car. Just my 2 cents.

Gen 1 interiors are mostly better anyways, from a squeak and rattle standpoint.

Yeah the guy I was talking to about the parts told me the same thing that gen 1 parts are way better. Thanks for the info again!

Gen 1 and Gen 2 head liners are NOT the same!

The headliners, "C" piller covers, and the package tray won't work. To get the door panels to work you will have to get the door handles, actuator rods and for the rears the handle mounts.

I really like to door panels on a gen 2 but like everyone said it hurts the value of the plus I have. Btw sick instrument cluster!
