Another quick update. I have all the wiring (believe me there was a LOT of it for the bi-xenons eek! ) done and fitted into my car. I put one of the housings in for aiming, so all I have to do now is:
1. Secure prjector fixtures, and cover up rear (waterproof)
2. Find something for UV/scratch protection on front lens.
3. Waterproff ballast/ignigtor.

PICS:
Notice a slight  color difference?!

It's amazing there is almost no light above the cutoff.

But when below the cutoff, WOW eek! Does one look a slight bit brigher? boink oh_my

I expect to complete the project in 2-3 weeks.

Just actual working time on the lights, I would say about 40 hours. But it has spanned over 5 months total. I guess I just had to have everything perfect.

If you can streamline your production to make it quicker and had enough people on here willing to place orders, you should consider making and selling them to fellow Gen I owners.

I would love a setup like that for my SHO. If you're not interested in putting together a kit for other Gen I owners then purhaps you could do a writeup documenting how you went about all this, parts, and prices? Pretty please? :D

I probably could produce them and sell them, but they would be extremely expensive (maybe more then some gen 1's are worth! ), not to mention they would take a long time to make.

But for you adventurous ones, I will be making a website with pics and stuff, and my email if you have specific questions.

See ya

EDIT: 1000 POSTS boink boink YEAH thumb beer

So can you do the same for a gen 2 set up?
For Gen II there is a Sylvania Xenarc kit for a little bit under $500. For the money I hear it's a great kit and it's basically no muss, no fuss. And no blinding of oncoming traffic to boot.

I'm sure I could, but the price/time would be about the same. I just didn't really anticipate people wanting to pay so much for a pair of headlights (even though they may be worth it).

I don't know if you have seen it, but Herman A. already made a beautiful setup for his g2 with great quality/performance.

EDIT: Rick, Do you have any more info on that kit? I would love to see it. Sounds quite interesting, and much cheaper!

Kaoticsho has the kit on one of his cars. He's very happy with it. It's not as good as factory HID lighting with a modern luxury car but he feels for the price it's well worth it, a great upgrade. Maybe he'll share more details.

I still have to search around to see if Sylvania makes a Xenarc kit for Gen I cars.

From what I saw in Kaotic's sig, he has the 1010 kit, which is just an auxiliary light. In other words it goes where the "fog" lights are in the SHO. But if you want HID driving lamps to function as your lowbeams, I understand this is quite a nice kit. And by the dimensions, it should fit gen 1 or 2 with slight modification. thumb

You say it's not as good as an OEM HID's. That's why I think my lights will be supiorior, because they are OEM HID's.

But don't get me wrong, I bet that kit would be more then sufficient for 99% of people who want better lighting. I am just the stubborn 1% that has to have it perfect. wink :D
