Having issues with my 1990s driver seat all functions work with the exception moving the chair forward. i think im looking for a new adjustment motor if anyone has one that will work and or a part number i could definatly put both to use.
Thanks so much

Mrecoolgar, that method did work to save mine. I simply reoiled and did the seat about 15ish time throughout it's range and works again.
As for OP, I would pull the switch Assembly off and ensure each wire was connected fully. Maybe redo the connections to ensure it.

Pull motor out and hot wire it to see if the motor its self has failed and start there...if motor is good then look at track, I bet the track is locked up with dirt something like that and the motor just cant push through it...the grease on the tracks will attrach any and all dirt and over time causes the tracks to get very stiff to move...alot of the times if you just clean out track very well and lightly grease with new clean grease they work very well....

just my $ .02

^^^ This. The good news is all of those parts are the same as a standard Taurus, assuming the power seat option.

I have a 90 SHO and if you want to move the seat back and forth, it requires a lot of gymnastics.

My motor works fine, and I have oiled the rails and gears; and it still requires assistance to move.

They goofed up on the motor size and torque at the design stage.

Sounds like what these cars always were. High volume reduce cost american sedan with an engine that was interesting enough for a handful of masochists to buy and try to keep roadworthy.
