I run the E30 GH tune year-round in northern Ohio. It runs flawless. You can monitor more using a laptop connection with your SCT, also seems to log at a higher resolution. I highly recommend GearHead over all other tuners because he actually tunes the entire vehicle. It doesn't feel like any other tuner. It makes the car actually feel like a 50k vehicle. Other tuners may make higher hp, but they don't make the ultra crisp shifting and they don't make sport mode feel so damned sporty. As well as other tweaks.
Matt's E30 tune is worth every cent.

AJPTurbo is awesome and I primarily use his tune when I plan on racing. It definitely has more low end and mid range pull. But it has no difference in sport mode and doesn't shift much different than other tunes. My AJPTurbo tune does the same thing....

Nothing against Brad, his tunes are awesome and he did great explaining what he was changing. If I was intent on primarily racing, I'd probably spend my time and money on his tunes exclusively.
For my daily driver, stoplight racecar, grocery getter, worklunch meeting car, etc.. etc.. I'd recommend GearHead. I didn't even realize the Taurus could feel like a true high end luxury sedan until I made the switch. The shifting makes me use sport mode almost every day. If you haven't tried it, do it. Even if you only use it for around town or long trips. Absolutely worth it!
My sport mode completely changes everything. Everything you said the GH tune does, my AJPTune does as well except my sport mode works. There is a night and day difference between drive and sport in my car. Maybe because mine is a PP?
How were you able to open the Gearhead tune on hpt?Maybe you have lucky revision. Brad has stated he doesn't tune sport mode because it's just a pedal multiplier.
I've compared the tunes in HPTUNERS and I've seen the things each tuner changes.
The number of items tweaked varies greatly between tuners, for example Brad tunes more settings on the engine than unleashed, GearHead tunes even more than that but for different reasons I believe. The transmission settings between Unleashed and AJPTurbo are very similar but neither is even close to Matt's. Again I'm sure each tuner has their reasons for every tweak.
One of the reasons I tried GearHead was because I felt like AJPTurbo didn't have time for me. I also know that anyone here on this forum that has been GearHead tuned will say the same things about the shifting. If you experience the same style upshifting and downshifting with any other tune, you'd be the first to say so.
Also the only thing that would even apply to a PP vs a nonPP when it comes to shift tuning is the mph it shifts at due to the short-geared PP running out of breath earlier.

I need to datalog and I've read the posts from these very helpful members - but I want to confirm with you how to datalog for you. I've never done this before, is this exactly how you want it?..... Livewire ts and plug it into the obd2 port and then plug my laptop into it and open live link. In my case Brad sent a config file with all the data he wants to see. So I load this file and turn off TC put in sport mode and paddle shift to 3rd and hit start log on live link. Then bring it up to about 2k and floor it to red line. save the log on the laptop and email to tuner..." I've seen others say to slow rev to limit, WOT in 2nd gear, etc.... Thank you!! I'm going to do this tomorrow (Monday) and get your E30 tune!
I always like to datalog from dead stop to around 100mph and a 3rd gear roll from 2k up to redline.
You can load the config file to datalog directly on your device.
Matt usually will answer questions quicker if you email him directly.
What software? The hardware is 600$
SM 105k I'm figured out how to put in a direct message here to you I'm in Arizona if you can please contact me I have a few questions for you thank youIf you choose a custom tune and have E85 available I would opt for a E30 tune. More boost, more timing, more power. Pretty simple.
How does unleased tunes stack against these two? I’m about ready to pull the trigger but unleashed has a packag that’s $100 less than gear head.
