While I admittedly don't know exactly which thread you guys are talking about, my guess is that it's the one with the gauge pod fabrication?
Not sure of details, and I didn't notice it was moved, because I don't venture into these forums much, but if I could offer what my guess is on this, as a long time member: If it resembles a for sale thread by a member who doesn't have a paid classified ad, or is a supporting vendor, it'll be moved to an admin area for review and dealt with appropriately. Of course, I'm not a mod here, so that's just a guess, but those types of for sale threads violate the TOS of SHOForum.
I have seen this happen in the past, and information that was in violation of the TOS was pruned, and the useful parts of the thread moved back to the original location.
Mr Anonymous said:Third, the ******** elitist crap a couple of you posted when someone from "outside" your little Gen 4 clique mentioned that a donation should have been made before offering something for sale was the final straw.
Wow, Now I've read the rest of the thread. Does seem a little unfair doesn't it mods and admins?
I don't see how it was breaking terms of use since Chris wasn't making any $$ out of it. As he said: just **** it out of the goodness of his heart for his fellow SHO owners.
How could this have been blown out of proportion so badly when there was no sales involved?
.........and oh not that "cliquey GEN4 elitist accusation again?
That is B.S. and everyone knows it. A nicer group of fellas I've never met either in person or online and they are neither cliquey or elitist! -- They really quite genuine and nice people.
C.
The point is, is that crash712us never sold a single one of these pods as of yet.
Advertising – Advertising is NOT allowed unless you have donated to have a classifieds ad taken out. Please do not advertise anything for sale in your signature or user title unless you have taken out a classifieds ad. Advertising in your signature without an ad in one of the classified sections not allowed and will not be tolerated. If you have something for sale in your signature without a classifieds ad it will be removed without prior contact with you. Once removed, any member who again replaces the ad will be dealt with accordingly.
No. You must post the classified prior to the sale.Unfortunately if that is your entire point, then it will be lost with the mods and admin of this forum. Along with all of the arrogant posts within this new thread.
If that is your entire point, then it has been lost on the good people (like Chris) that will care less about your so called "concern".
I also see no "arrogant" posts within this thread. Perhaps if you don't like what your reading, you should refrain from commenting further, but I suspect you won't. Which is fine, just more useless commentary for pure entertainment purposes
As I posted in the previous thread, as well as mentioned to Crash via private message, this has happened before.
Convenient how this happened right after you came here. Coincidence? Sure smells of it.
And there really should be no surprise, if you had actually taken the time to read the forum rules and terms of service.
You must post the classified prior to the sale.
There were no sales. This "transaction" (to use your terms) was nothing more than one member's attempt to recreate a modification for others. Period.
As I see it now, we have arrived at the exact place I saw the thread going...
Closed/locked and feelings hurt.
Hate to say it, but I told you so. I was trying to be nice about it. And Im sure if Crash had contacted a moderator the day I first posted my suggestion to make sure he was in the clear for such a thread, things would have gone different route.
Same comment as above, quite coincidental this happened right after you posted up.
If you were truly being nice about it, then you would've made your initial suggestions (to Chris) via PM. Oh wait, you don't hide behind.....
Ahem, yea maybe you do![]()

An actual transaction is not needed to require a classified or a group buy.
Think about it for a minute.... do you actually SELL something before you post a classified???No. You must post the classified prior to the sale.
****, Ive had loads of crap in the classifieds before, and didnt sell one. But I sure as shit payed my donation.
The main difference I see is that I took the time and care to go through the proper channels to proceed with such a classified. Not only is this the CORRECT way to do this according to the forum rules and terms of service, but it is done out of respect for the admin and all of the mods that help to keep this forum running smoothly, and without the nasty filth that so many other forums seem to have.

Wrong.
People were lined up ready to send payment. ****, Crash even posted a photo of pod #1 with a name on it, presumably ready to package and ship
And please do not confuse "transaction" with "advertising"
Advertising happens prior to a transaction. And according to the VERY SIMPLE forum rules, all advertising requires a donation.
If you are suggesting that sent a message to a moderator about the thread, you are mistaken. No such message was ever sent. Nor was there any desire or need. I felt that Crash being the thread starter needed to step up and make sure he was in the clear.
I wholeheartedly wanted the thread to survive. The writing was on the wall that the thread had turned into a group buy, and was destined to be locked/deleted. So I mentioned that Crash should get in contact with a mod to make sure things take a turn.
Too little too late I suppose.
But hey, if you had even bothered to read the rules....![]()

Wrong (on your part) yet again.

Kenny you shouldn't presume things. The name on the pod displayed was Chris autographing it, kind of a funny thing we suggested he do as the potential for this item will obviously far exceed anything you attempted to sell.
And please do not confuse "transaction" with "advertising"

Seems you are confusing "advertising" with what Chris was kind enough to show us as images of his progress. Since he's never undertaken anything like this before, he was excited at his successes and was sharing said enthusiasm.
Hardly can be even remotely construed as advertising.

Guilty conscience? No need to explain Kenny, really, there isn't.
Nor is there any need for you to be worried about Chris, or his abilities to "step up".... I'm sure Chris is a big boy and fully capable of doing so on his own.
I wholeheartedly wanted the thread to survive. The writing was on the wall that the thread had turned into a group buy, and was destined to be locked/deleted. So I mentioned that Crash should get in contact with a mod to make sure things take a turn.
Still never turned into a group buy as you claim and there you go again trying to "explain" things to Chris......
You certainly have displayed your ability to explain things Kenny, probably more than you ever needed to, I suspect not only here, but in other arenas you choose to interject your .02 into.... a good indicator of narcissism.
Too little too late I suppose.
But hey, if you had even bothered to read the rules....![]()

I investigated and realize to the costs of reproducing where to great for me to taken alone so I took another 9 other investors and in return there pod would be built at cost
This is beginning to look a lot like deja vu....since it is some one who has been a member a long time and owns an older gen SHO, it means their view is the correct one and the one that the admins and mods will bow to....apparently reasonable logic about this doesn't matter. What part of it isn't a sale, we who want the pods are giving Chris the money to buy the materials...doesn't seem that hard to follow and since he is still working on the first ones, he isn't selling them, just building them for us. But it is ok when others make stuff and advertise in their signature...as long as it is for the earlier gens....please help me understand this... things are looking quite foggy!
This will be my last post.
Dont mind me if I never lend a Gen 4 guy a hand.
You have all done one **** of a job of showing your true colors.
Have a nice day. Dont mind me if I never lend a Gen 4 guy a hand. You have all done one **** of a job of showing your true colors.
Certainly sounds like a transaction to me. All the while utilizing forum resources for R&D, networking and advertising.
I tried to forewarn you, you didnt respond accordingly. The Gen 4 crowd felt compelled to shit in your thread because of my very simple suggestion. Then the thread got locked. And now you whine and moan.
And since this is simple becoming a mess of a thread. This will be my last post.
Have a nice day. Dont mind me if I never lend a Gen 4 guy a hand. You have all done one **** of a job of showing your true colors.
And then, cowardly, you deny mentioning to the moderator. The coincidence is a little to great....man up atleast.
Other's stated they were interested in him making more so he did some research on how that could happen...and even IF that could happen. He decided to take a stab at it but because of cost he was looking for some individuals to help purchase mold making supplies...never to purchase a gauge pod. There was not hint of a "group buy" or even a sale of one gauge pod. How is this any different than having a wrenchfest and someone bringing a pizza or beer? Do you send money to the forum when you post a wrenchfest? Money isnt even the issue...
I'm sure if a moderator asked Chris via PM to make a donation for what was appearing to be a classified ad there would have been no problem in that getting done.
Instead, someone felt obligated to not even read the thread but post his 2 cents anyway and when HE didnt get his way HE whined to the moderator and the thread was gone.
I realize some of the older generation guys dont care for the car that much, whether it be because of the weight or the cost or whatever.
There is good info on here and good guys/gals as well...the older generation vs newer generation thing is ********.
