So, what are the most popular gauges V8 owners have put in?

I'm planning on VDO gauges, as I have them in my buses I drive, and they match pretty well with my factory cluster in the 99. Red needle, black face, white letters.

I was going to go with the standard oil pressure, water temp, and transmission temp. Anyone want to suggest what range I should pick for these gauges?

Here's some pics of the ones I am looking at:

Yes, No, Suggestions? Please let me hear them. These gauges are electrical as well.

I did volts, oil pressure, oil temp, trans fluid temp. I like Autometer, but they are expensive.

On range, I think you are too wide for your oil pressure and trans temp. Running oil pressure should be 20-50 lbs, so a huge part of the range or your gage will not be in use most of the time while the part in use will be compressed. Similar problem with the trans temp gage, where normal temps are 150-180 F. after warmed up, which is all going to sit down at the bottom of your gage and be very compressed in its movements.

Yep, thats what I was thinking. Those are the same gauges as in our Blue Bird buses.

So if they are available, go with a lower range of the gauge? So I can more accurately view what is going on. And yeah, I had an autometer pro comp oil pressure gauge in the Diplomat, but that was even pricey. Used.

That is what I would do. I think my oil pressure is a 0-100 psi face. 140-300 F for the oil temp. The trans fluid temp is 100-250 F. Those are all Autometer. Other firms will likely have slightly different ranges, but I have found these keep me in range plus do not waste accuracy by having tons of unused area.
