Just picked up my second SHO. I noticed that on the display next to the speedometer, in only has entertainment and phone listed as options in my new SHO. My other SHO has those two, as well as climate and navigation. Both cars have nav. I'm guessing the one car came with more options? The SHO with all 4 is a 13 and the other is a 14.

Anyone have any issues with wheel bearings? Thought I started to hear a hum recently. Or the buttons on the heat control that control temp and fan speed, not on the touch screen, being finicky? A few times when i pressed the buttons, nothing happened.

The firmware in the instrument cluster is different in the newer Taurus and Flex. They don’t support the climate menus in the cluster anymore. I believe 13 was the only year that had climate on the right. The Fusion is the same way.

I wish they did have it. I had a 13 Fusion and really liked having the climate there. I like the way my old super duty works the best with temp and fan buttons on the steering wheel though.

Correct 2013 only for climate. I believe Nav should be there on all 2013+

2016+ have a speedo as well in the left screen. Again firmware differences so forscan will not be of help.

I would be curious if your car came factory with navigation. I think all gen 2 systems with nav have a compass?

A vin and this forum, or the dealer can tell you.

I would suggest never having the dealership update your sync system as it will revert it back to a non navigation unit like it came from the factory. Mystery solved.

There is a t.s.b. to as-built program the instrument Pannel Cluster to restore turn by turn and the compass but this will do you no good since your vin above didn't come from the factory with navigation.

Are you saying the car has a hacked APIM with nav added? I'd be surprised if the IPC is different and if not then it can probably be added with forscan.

You may be on to something there. ;)

However, I don't know what to change.

Nor do I. I have to look back I may have an idea what bits need to be changed but I doubt I have what it would need to be changed too. Comparing as-built from a nav and non nav car could help.

SYNC2 is the same hardware as the maps are on the SD card. I have heard Ford patched the softwareto no longer allow this but my car came with nav so I have not looked into it. SYNC3 has the maps saved in the APIM so it cannot be added without a nav APIM.

.

So I came across this older thread looking for an answer. I recently added the O.D. Temp to the dash in the right screen lower ribbon in the IPC module as well as the climate controls to the right screen in my 2018 Explorer. I liked the controls there so well I wanted to do it in my 2016 SHO. There was no toggle in FORScan for climate control screen repeater for the SHO. I found a block code change for a 2013 fusion that would do it. So I was looking for a way to go from toggle back to module blocks. But, if I’m reading this correctly it’s not possible anyway. Is that correct?

you are correct. the IPC is phyiscally different from the 2013 model year compared to the 14+ model year.
