gauge cluster problems...

just picked up a turbo'ed 91, and the speedo was working on the test drive, not so sure about the temp gauge, however the speedo and temp gauge are not working now, any simple fix or am i gonna have to get a new gauge cluster?

The speedo is cable driven and the temp gauge is electric so whatever problems that they have are independent of each other. Check to see if the speedo cable had come out of the transmission. It's located on the firewall side of the tranny and comes straight up. The temp gauge is driven by a sensor located on the thermostat housing which is under the throttle body. It is a 1 wire sensor. You can start at those places and work back from there to see what the problem is.

i dont have any pics, i got it from a guy who runs Bittersweetsho.com, there are a couple pics there, its needs some work, hence the questions. but it sure does haul ass.
