Thinking about buying a 99 SHO....gonna strap me money wise a good bit....and i understand a SHO needs all that tenderloving care to run properly...But is it totally necessary to buy premium gasoline?? Can you get away with Super??? and if everyone says no then i will fork over the money no matter what...dont understand how i could have lived without a SHO for so long...Spending 10 extra cents to save the life of a SHO is more than worth it...was just curious

They run fine on regular. The only time I have noticed any pinging is when the ambient temps are in the 100-degree range and under a heavy foot. Before you commit to buying this car, be aware of the cam failure issue. Read up on it at v8sho.com. Good luck. :thumb:

I use regular at the track too. My best times are on 87 octane 10% ethanol gas.

I have used 89 octane a few times, but mostly I use 93, seems to get better mpg with the higher octane. I average 28mpg on the highway.
