Good to see everyone made it back ok! Great pics, Mark! Saturday night was a blast, I wish we could have gotten there when everyone else did and I could have started drinking a little earlier! ******* was funny except the fact that I kept ending up with chicken and french fries in my ears and ketchup on my forehead...
You guys forgot to mention the truck fatality... we managed to get it back home in about 2 hours in 4th gear the whole way. We had to stop at about 5 or 6 lights the way we went back. Huge pain in the ass, and my uncle was livid when we got back! It's going to cost us $250 to fix the damn thing. I'm just lucky nothing broke on my car because I was able to drive it all the way back with no problems at all.
I had an absolute blast Sunday! Special thanks to Don for his expert training! I picked up on it really fast and was ripping around that track full blast in no time. My best lap time was 1:14 the whole day and I was otherwise staying very consistent. Me and Jason have definitely found a new hobby.
I was very impressed with my car and the new suspension setup went above and beyond all that I was expecting! The only thing I had to complain about was low-end bogging and I probably could have pushed it much harder with stickier tires. The low-end bog was due to the open exhaust. Would have been great on a longer and more open track where I could have gotten up to higher speeds, but I think the fastest I noticed was about 75 on the straights. I wasn't paying much attention to speed though.

When we got to the track .. it was in the high 30's ... when we left the hotel at 8 am ... 33 degrees. Probably by mid afternoon warmed up to high 40's low 50's at the best

Hey, this is Scott (aka the guy that spun out his S2000). Anyway, here's a video of that run from inside the car. And if you want to skip right to the spin, it's right around the 6 minute mark in the video.

Overall, I had a blast. Luckily, I only had the one spin. Not too bad considering I've only owned the car for 2 weeks and this was the first time I really drove it hard. I blame my tires. By that 4th run, they were so greasy, traction was hard to come by. I can't complain though. I managed to get a 1:09, which is right where I wanted to be. Not too bad for a stock vehicle with a driver that hasn't owned anything RWD for the last 6 years.

Big thanks to the SHO guys and girls for putting on this event. It was a blast. I think everyone had a great time, even if the weather was worse than frigid.

LOL I blame my tires too! Too much power for them pilots...and that was the first time I really drove the Viper, unfortunatly I don't know what it would have done because I would have spun again if I pushed it any harder.

We definitly need to set up another track event in the next few months

Yeah, with a car like a Viper, it defenitely takes a little getting used to before ripping up a road course.
