I was looking up some EcoBoost info and came across this on YouTube.

I came across a Ford oil and filter application guide. One of the interesting things in it was the recommendations for oil weight on Road circuit used 2.3 l EcoBoost Mustangs. Apparently 5W50 is not 2 Heavy an oil for the cam phasers with track use on the 2.3 EcoBoost. Remember this is road course use!

I would recommend the factory performance package oil cooler as it is designed for the transverse 3.5 ecoboost SHO engine. I am running one on my non PP SHO and it works great, for more information they can be ordered through my website.

How long did it take to install and was it basically plug and play?

So our oil pump can support an external cooler with no Issues?
It would depend a lot on the sizing of the cooler and lines.
Edit:
Also you don't want the oil pressure too high to compensate for any pressure drop across the cooler. That can cause other problems with oil driven systems, ex. VCT. That and most oil filters are in danger to burst the filter medium around 90 to 100 PSI iirc, could even activate the bypass valve in the filter. Short version, unfiltered engine oil.
