Fuel tank

Just wondering if anybody knows if the fuel tanks between the sho's and non-sho's are interchangable....? searched forum but couldnt find anything on it.

yes the one on the slo and sho are the same.

Well the sho has a 18.4 gal and the slo has a 16 gal fuel tank.

Not all SHO's have the larger tank though!

Watch out , theres 2 sizes to taurus tanks - the 16 and the 18 gallons. Some shos came with the small tanks and theres almost no way to tell until you fill it up.

The fuel pumps are NOT the same (slo vs sho) , plus the assemblies are differant from a 16 vs 18 gals.

Not sure about that I only answered your question about the fuel pump.

lol I think you will be fine with either tank.

hopefully,lol. this thing is runnin me clear out of money. plug,wires,ignition mudule, maf, coil pack, fuel pump and now fuel tank. i'll never put it in storage for 4 years ever again, lol

This i did do, owned a 95 atx before this one that required thousands of dollars during its tour of duty until i rolled it on a sharp curve after beating my friends z28, lol

Mission complete, if anybody is wondering a 16 will fit where an 18 once was, and the sending units are interchangable. i took a tank out of a 95 gl and used it along with the sending unit and just put the pump from the sho on the sending unit and it works fine.

i plan on putting in a new tank/filler neck so looks like i'll cut down on weight a little bit by throwing in the smaller tank lol.
