Well I was wondering if any one has thought about or even tried to convert the engine to run on alcohol. With the price of gas now I can not afford to drive it anymore. i had to pay 2.60 for a gallon of gas.

Pretty much the exact opposite.BodylessSHO said:Here's a fuel question, does using premium give you better gas mileage? Enough to make it worth the extra money?
RoadSHO said:I've noticed that Chevron premium 91 octane gives me about 10% better fuel economy versus the 87 octane. The price is about 10% difference so, no real dollar savings. I do feed a can of Berrymans B-12 Chemtool every 3-4 fillups. Helps keep carbon deposits down and raises octane.
......and that was 89 octane at $2.59 per gallon!!!!!naval-avi8or said:Primium gas has a higher flash point to reduce pre det AKA knock. With the higher flash point it tends not to burn as clean as reg unleaded. Some guys will swear that all you should run in a SHO is premium. I quit running premium in my SHO 5 years ago, which in turn reduced the frequency of cleaning the EGR due to excessive carbon deposites. I can't tell any difference in gas millage and have never had an issue with knocking. I don't go road race mine or beat it to death either. So if your pushing your car and having knock problems that is about the only reason I could think you would want to use Premium gas. Also if your having knock problems on reg unleaded than maybe you need a new knock sensor.
It's been several years since the last time I can remember this question come up but if my memory servers me right Primium also produces less BTU's which equates to less power for equal volume of regular gas.
