I think the fuel pump in my SHO is gone, and I wanted to know how much of a job it was to drop this fuel pump out, and how much a fuel pump cost (would like to know how much a stock and upgrade costs).

Thanks

Welcome....as custom allows I must recommend you do a search here for replacing fuel pump or fuel pump symptoms.

There are two methods of replacing the in-tank pump. Drop the tank or cut access door under back seat. It will depend on your skills, tools, and overall feelilng about which is better. The argument can be vailid either way. Up to you I guess on which you choose.

Drop tank: http://www.shotimes.com/php-bin/mod...le=article&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0&sid=75

Access Door: http://www.shophoenixproject.com/fueldoor/fueldoor.htm

After the search, and before your replace anything run your codes to determine that the pump is your problem.

There are several items that may produce pump symptoms, but not necessarily be pump related.

If you need to buy a pump the Walbro 155lph which is considered a slight but efficient upgrade to the stock unit can run from $80 - $100 depending on where you buy it. www.midwestsho.com has them as does www.autoperformanceengineering.com. Unless you are adding FI (forced induction, ie. supercharger/turbo) you don't need anthing higher than the 155lph pump.

Always change the fuel filter too.
