I got good news and bad news. For the few of you following my progress on my '89 SHO, It actually does crank over now. I grabbed the battery out of my Cavalier, hooked her up, (after replacing battery terminals and cables to the solenoid and bottom of motor respectively, and she cranks all day. At various times throughout my playing around, (all of which in weeks past) I heard the fuel pump would start and run for that second or so. Now that I have a different battery, (one that works) I do not hear the fuel pump. First thought was to hit that stupid switch in the trunk, which I did but still no whine. Any other thoughts?

Hmmmmph. Deja vu all over again.

I just provided the link a couple hours ago to my previous post on how to troubleshoot this....

I picked that one up Steve. Is it the same for the '92 as the '89??? Just for the sake of arguement, I tried to run the codes, but got nothing. No flashing lights, nothing. Almost as if the jumper wire wasn't even there. Still no fuel pump racket either. frown

We had to put a fuel pump in an our 88 taurus SLO a few years back....however...before it finally went we were told that if we beat the tank with a wooden mallet where the fuel pump was it might turn on...we did this for about 6 months before replacing it...every few weeks it would need a smack...

Figured out why the fuel pump wasn't working. On the positive side of the battery terminal there is a 4 gauge wire to the battery and a 10 gauge wire to the battery. The 10 gauge popped off somehow. Soldered it on, and the fuel pump turns on now!! :) Next question... why won't it start? :)
