So here is something interesting that happened. Last week I took the car to have the recall fix performed at local Ford dealer. I did not reflash my SHO back to stock tune or anything. Then this past weekend, I have finally (after over a year!) finished my 3rd tank of 93 octane while running the LMS 87 tune. So I filled up with 93 and went to install my LMS 93 octane tune. Well my livewire tells me I have a DTC which must be cleared before programming. I view it and it pops up with P0230. I clear it and tune the car. Everything is successful.

Onto my questions :p

1) I noticed on the dealer paperwork - they did not fix anything for the recall. It says they performed diagnostics on fuel pump and no repair was necessary at this time. Should I be worried? I thought they would actually fix something?
2) The P0230 DTC is for Fuel Pump primary circuit malfunction. I had no CEL, but the livewire did give me that DTC... Should I be worried? I am wondering if this is just tied to whatever diagnostic they performed a week earlier at the Ford dealer? I read online that the computer can store DTCs for a little while, and that a DTC won't necessarily trigger a CEL.

Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about the Fuel Pump Control Module recall? They need to check the part number on the module and if it falls within the range specified in the recall, replace it. So some SHOs may not need the module replaced. You can always ask them to verify the part number they pulled from the module, and crosscheck independently to see if they are trying to fool ya :)

Probably just the diagnostic. No worries unless it pops up again.

Without looking it up, the dtc might be a type B and didn't turn the light on the first time set...it's possible that the Tech disconnected/reconnected the fuel pump control module with the key on to look at the numbers creating a false set and storing the dtc in history.
