when I turn my key to the on position, the fuel pump makes a mildly loud humming noise. It lasts maybe a sec or 2 than goes away. Than that's when I start it up.
Is this a sign that the pump is slowly on it's way out.
If so should I jst get a walbro 190. I obviously plan on doing some modding to the car nothing to serious.
And can the fule pump be easly accessed by taking the rear seat out, or do you have to take the tank down??

Ford pumps are typically noisy. Yours is not particularly giving off an early warning of pending failure unless you are seeing other symptoms.

To get to the pump from under the rear seat, you have to cut your own access hole. Otherwise, you have to drop the fuel tank.

190 is too much just for a mildly modded car. A new stock pump or 155 will do the job.

I disagree. I put a 190 on my mildly modded car, and all was fine! 190 will work fine.....do it while you have it all apart!! Now, 255 is too much!

Disagree what? It's common sense that 190 is over doing it. The stock fuel pump still puts out enough on a stock SHO spraying nitrous. The 155 will be the same with more piece of mind and not risk the chance of your fuel adjustments to be leaned out due to over pumping 190. The 190 has been known in some cars to cause problems [like the leaning out] if you don't install the SHONut FPR [$230]. Of course the 190 will go in and do the job, but it runs the chance of doing it and messing up the air to fuel ratio. :slap:
